About
I’m a guitar player/teacher living in Vancouver BC. with over 25yrs experience and a certificate in Music Business Administration. Currently working with Flying Saucer recording artists the Deadcats. I also perform with the KonTikis, Wichita Trip, Boomchix and Big Joe Burke. I play Dobro, Lap Steel, Banjo, Mandolin and am learning the Violin. I’m endorsed by Sparrow Guitars of Vancouver.
My goal for this blog is help guitarist’s to learn principles that will improve their playing. Simpler ways to explain complicated theories, new ways to solve problems as apposed to specific songs, riffs and put second finger on 3rd string, first fret- type stuff ( technique ). Simplifying Musical theory, mapping out the Fingerboard, recognizing shapes, spatial relationships and patterns can help any guitarist.
If you’ve ever tried to learn to play the Guitar only to be frustrated by impossible Chord shapes, boring exercises and an overly technical teacher, it’s not too late. I have studied Guitar for over 25 years, looking for the fastest, most effective way to teach my students how to play songs right away!

Yes, he’s great, I think playing steel Guitar improves your standard Guitar playing. It’s much more limiting playing in an open tuning, you’re very limited by which chord phrasings you can use( many steel players avoid playing rhythm/chords altogether) and really forces you to simplify and concentrate on your right hand. Junior’s technique is simply amazing, playing a 20lb Guitar that requires a stand would drive me crazy.
