Chord Chart, Diagrams, Printouts
I use this Octave diagram for open string scales(A,D,G,B and E). Once you get used to building scales and chords on one string, you can start from the 2nd,3rd, 4rth or 5th fret(B,C,F and all sharps and flats). Seeing the notes in a line, makes it easy to compare to different scales, riffs or chords. You can also chart out a chord progression, on this diagram. It’s very handy to help you visualize how the notes relate to each other.
